The Unknown Feather

The Find

The feather was found in winter on the roof of the Nuclear Physics University, after a heavy blizzard. It was found by a student who was clearing snow, and at first he thought it was an ordinary bird feather. But it was bloody, even though everybody knows that when birds lose feathers, there’s no blood on them.

The student took the feather to Kuma. Kuma checked it with every instrument at the university and couldn’t find a single bird on K-853 that could have feathers like this. The feather is longer than the paw of a grown cat, light grey from dirt, and a little bloody.

The Effect

Whoever holds the feather in their paws starts to feel anxious and gets an unexplainable feeling of déjà vu, as if they had already touched this feather before. Some say that the thought of the feather kept them from sleeping because they heard someone’s echo, and others nearly went mad. Taya held the feather and said that it smells like ████’s hands, and then she went to sleep at Kuma’s place because, as she said, “It’s watching.” When Kuma asked who was watching, Taya answered.

Taya:

— “She… She’s watching me, Kuma, she was in my room… whispering something in another language… I… I don’t even know what it sounds like. Kuma, take this feather away, please…”

Whose Is It?

Followers of Hoomanity believe that the feather was dropped by an angel, a servant of the humans who looks after them. Marzites say it’s proof: the humans are still watching over their world. In the house of the Amethysts they are sure it’s just an unknown bird that hasn’t been discovered yet.

Right now the feather is kept at the university under glass. Kuma keeps studying it. We hope he doesn’t go mad :)
