Suits of Shutrak

Shutrak has its own laws and a hierarchy of suits — everything there is strict. Everyone who lives in Shutrak or has moved there bears a suit mark somewhere on their body. Where do the marks come from? You could call it a birthmark, but it’s inherited — like eye colour, for example.

Diamonds + Diamonds = Diamonds 80%, Hearts 18.4%, Spades 2.6%

Hearts + Hearts = Diamonds 15%, Hearts 79%, Spades 4%

Spades + Spades = Spades 90%, Clubs 10%

Clubs + Clubs = Clubs 80%, Spades 20%

• Clubs — the richest in the country, with access to everything. They can travel all over the planet and do any job.
• Spades — less aristocratic. They also have access to almost everything and can travel, but have fewer job options.
• Hearts — ordinary residents. They can’t go to Amiz and are allowed into very few jobs.
• Diamonds — the poor, you could say. They can’t travel, and very few jobs are open to them.
